Wind

It is important to know how fast the wind is blowing. Wind is measured using a wind gauge or an anemometer. Wind speed is measured in meters per second (m/s). Wind maps can be created to show us places with high wind speeds. For example, the wind map of the USA below shows that there is much wind at 50 meters height above the ground in the high plains of the middle of the USA and on US coastlines.
