- June 6, 2009 - “Travel the Towpath,” a celebration of Bethlehem’s most popular trail – the Lehigh Canal Towpath (a.k.a. the D&L Trail) – will take place along more than two miles of the historic trail from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Jessica Mauro
EI Program Coordinator
Jessica Mauro joined the Environmental Initiative as a Program Coordinator in August 2007. Mauro is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a B.A. in Political Science, and a minor in Science, Technology and Society. Her particular areas of interest include International development, global food strategies, sustainability, and the connections between science, technology and society. While at Penn State, Mauro worked as an office assistant in the STS department and as a TA, and enjoyed participating in activities with Eco-Action and the Center for Sustainability. She also designed and constructed an educational butterfly garden at the Penn State Trial Gardens.
Before joining the EI, Mauro also worked at the Urban Environmental Center in Wilmington, DE and the Pool Wildlife Sanctuary in Emmaus, PA as an environmental educator, developing and implementing lessons for preschool and school age children. She enthusiastically supports the purpose and goals of the Environmental Initiative and looks forward to being part of its future.
